ROSSO DELLE RIPALTE

With this Rosso, Tenuta delle Ripalte highlights the qualities of Grenache, also known as Alicante, Cannonau, or Garnacha. This grape variety, perfectly suited to the island’s hot and dry climate, expresses a distinctive character here, one that cannot be replicated by other varieties. The result is a rich and authentic wine, capable of telling, sip by sip, the strong and refined soul of Elba.

VINIFICATION
After a selective manual harvest, the grapes are vinified in stainless steel tanks, with a short maceration on the skins to enhance the aromas and structure.

AGEING
The wine matures for 6 months in stainless steel, developing freshness, aromatic intensity, and a lovely finesse. Bottling takes place at the end of the spring following the harvest, allowing the wine to further refine in the bottle.

TASTING NOTES
Colour: Intense ruby red.
Aroma: Notes of ripe red fruits, sweet spices and Mediterranean scrub.
Taste: Structured and balanced, with soft and persistent tannins.

PAIRINGS
Perfect with structured seafood dishes, the wine enhances the freshness and savoriness of recipes such as cacciucco alla livornese and baccalà alla livornese, but also pairs wonderfully with stewed seafood and tomato-based sauces. It also complements more robust vegetarian dishes, such as legume-based recipes, vegetable stews, and fresh or semi-aged cheeses like young Pecorino or Grana Padano. Its lively acidity and lightness make it ideal for pairing with Mediterranean dishes, enhancing their aromatic notes without overwhelming them.
